Cooley Wells

There is an ancient set of holy wells situated seven miles north west of Portaferry. Over the past several years, the Northern Ireland Paranormal Research Association have had several people contact us about strange goings-on, ranging from hearing voices to seeing figures of people walking about the site.
On four different occasions, we conducted investigations at the site with amazing results. Working with a trained medium, we were able to make contact with a fisherman called "Paul" who worked on the site in 1874. Paul was very amused that we were taking an interest in him and this place. Paul told us that he knew he had passed on but did not want to leave this place, which is understandable considering this is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places one would ever want to see.
After working with Paul for some amount of time, we began to recognize some energy that came from this spirit: love, trust, happiness, but mixed in with all of this, we all felt a deep sense of not belonging and wanting. We all knew that a spirit rescue was needed.
The following night, we returned to the wells with digital cameras, camcorders, and night-vision equipment. After some time, we began the spirit rescue. I asked Paul if he would mind if I took a few photos, which I did. There was no smoke or mist on the night I took them.
The medium, aided by the rest of the team, finally said goodbye to Paul, and all present felt the whole place change and get lighter as Paul the fisherman finally moored his boat for the last time.
